Baldwin Community Schools receives clean audit reinforcing the district’s commitment to maintaining strong financial practices

BALDWIN, Mich. — Baldwin Community Schools (BCS) received the best possible results in its recent financial audit covering the 2021-2022 school year. The audit was completed by the independent audit firm, Hungerford Nichols, which issued the highest rating; a clean, unmodified opinion.

“At Baldwin Community Schools, we are committed to serving our students and our community to the highest level, and that includes a trustworthy and efficient approach to spending taxpayer dollars,” said Superintendent David Forrester. “I am proud of our staff who work hard to maintain the district’s reputation of fiscal responsibility and use our resources to help create a positive learning environment for all students.”

During Forrester’s time at the district, there have been 16 consecutive years of clean, unmodified audits.

Forrester commended Jennifer Vidak, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, for her efforts to maximize district finances and improve district processes and efficiencies.
