I hope our entire Panther community had a fantastic summer break filled with new experiences and memories with family and friends. It is great to see our amazing students, staff and families in our hallways again, and I am thrilled to share some updates as the new school year gets off the ground.
Thanks to the generosity of our community that supported our 2024 bond proposal, we are planning long-overdue safety and facility improvements in our schools. Our Panther staff worked through the summer to plan these projects that will promote a safe, healthy learning environment. I look forward to sharing more updates as these projects continue to take shape this school year.
We are continuing our proactive efforts to help address social, emotional and mental health concerns our students may have. Last school year, we launched Interconnected Systems Framework (ISF), which identifies potential learning, mental health or other challenges students might face and connects families with mental health and other services. Most recently, we hired two Student Success Coaches who will help facilitate any needed interventions and support for our students and families.
We are excited to introduce new opportunities for our Panthers to participate in our athletic programs this school year. This includes our new Pop Warner elementary school-level football league for Panthers in grades 3-5. The little league football team teaches fundamental values, skills and knowledge while emphasizing the importance of academic success.
At Baldwin Community Schools, we prioritize learning outside the classroom to provide students at all grade levels with hands-on, real-world learning opportunities. This school year, we will continue a full lineup of field trips, including through our continued partnership with Project For Our Children’s Ultimate Success (FOCUS), which organizes Baldwin student field trips and learning projects year-round.
At Baldwin schools, showing up is Job 1! That means regular, on-time attendance to school every day. This school year, we will continue our efforts to boost student attendance, which is critical to providing all Panthers with unique, innovative learning opportunities and preparing them for bright futures.
