Graduation Hats

Class of 2021 Parents:

A letter will be going home early next week with Seniors and in it you will find an allotment of graduation tickets (1/person for admission). We are working to seat the gym in pods for families while still maintaining appropriate social distancing. We ask that all those in attendance for graduation wear a mask, over both nose and mouth, and maintain appropriate social distancing before, during and after the ceremony.

We know and understand that the limit of seating may lead to some people unable to attend the ceremony. To alleviate this as best we can we will also be live streaming the event on YouTube at:  http://bit.ly/bcspanthers The live stream will start just before the ceremony begins, viewers may have to refresh the page if the stream has not yet begun.

Below is a schedule of events that your student needs to make sure to attend as we wrap up their senior year. Specifics will be relayed to students as dates draw closer. Some events of the past will not be held and others that may have been open to families now are limited to students in order to hold them as safely as possible. For instance, in the past we had a cake and punch reception in the school cafeteria after graduation but this year we are not planning any such event as to avoid times in close proximity to others without masks.

We would like to put together a slideshow of our graduating seniors. If you could get a few pictures (5-7) of your senior to me by May 17, 2021 I will begin putting this short video together for the class. You can email me digital images (cornwellg@bcsdmi.com) with your students name attached or you can send in printed pictures and we will scan and return them to you. As of this writing I have pictures from four graduates.

Please make sure that your student is able to participate in the Baldwin Jr/Sr High School Graduation by encouraging them to attend classes, complete assignments, study for exams and pass all course work necessary to meet graduation requirements. Any financial obligations to the school must be met before students will be allowed to participate in graduation.

Finally, please have a conversation with your student about safe and responsible behavior during these next few weeks and months as this is a season where celebratory times have turned tragic in many schools (drunk drivers, MIPs, etc.)
