SAT Information

All Baldwin High School juniors seeking a diploma are required to take the SAT as part of the Michigan Merit Examination. The SAT measures college readiness in core academic subjects and is used for college admissions decisions. The SAT may be taken more than once and scores are accepted by all 4-year colleges and universities in the U.S.

Registration:

Students are automatically registered for the Michigan Merit Examination. If a student chooses to take the SAT on a different test date either before the MME or as a retake, they may register via the SAT website. Students may register through the College Access Center and it is recommended that you speak with either someone in the CAC or Mr. Nasson. On-line registration is recommended and the following link will direct you to the registration page:

Cost:

The Michigan Department of Education covers the cost of the Michigan Merit Examination SAT administration. Students wishing to take the test on their own may either select the SAT for $45.00 or the SAT with Essay for $57.00. Fee waivers may be available--see Mr. Nasson or the College Access Center for eligibility.

Location:

The Michigan Merit Examination is held at Baldwin High School. At this time the school does not host additional administrations of the SAT. West Shore Community College and Ferris State University both provide SAT testing services on national test dates.

Test preparation materials are available in the Baldwin College Access Center. Books and software may also be purchased on-line or at bookstores. Make sure materials The SAT provides free on-line test preparation.
