Letter to Families

September 21, 2020 

Dear Families: 

We hope your remote year is going well. We are hoping to be back to some form of face-to-face learning by the first week of November. Right now, we want to share some information for the upcoming weeks so you can plan accordingly. 

The week of October 5, we will be assessing our K-8 students in the school. The assessment will be the NWEA and will take place throughout the week. Students will complete their NWEA assessments in small cohort groups. We will be asking that students wear their masks and practice social distancing. The schedule will look like this:

  • Monday October 5 & Thursday October 8 

Last names A - F attending 9 to 11 a.m.  

  • Monday October 5 & Thursday October 8 

Last names G - L attending  1 to 3 p.m.  

  • Tuesday October 6 & Friday October 9 

Last names M - Si attending 9 to 11 a.m.

  • Tuesday October 6 & Friday October 9 

Last names SL - Z attending 1 to 3 p.m. 

The following week, on Wednesday, October 14, we will offer the P/SAT and SAT assessments in the high school for all 9-12 grade students in small cohort groups. That day will look like this: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for testing with lunch being served in small cohort groups.

We ask that if you are planning to use Yates Dial-a-Ride Transportation that you please call them at (231) 745-7311 to arrange for transportation. 

Students are expected to bring their Chromebook devices with them for the assessment days
