Summer Food Service
Program in Michigan
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was established to
ensure that low income children continue to receive nutritious meals when
school is not in session. Free meals, that meet federal nutrition guidelines,
are provided to all children at approved SFSP sites in areas with significant
concentration of low income children.
This federally funded meal program
can be sponsored by public and private non-profit schools, residential camps,
colleges or universities participating in the National Youth Sports Program,
government agencies, and other private non-profit organizations.
If you are in need of a free meal during the summer months when school is out
of session check out this website, meals are provided to people 18 years of age
or younger, free of charge, all you have to do is show up! Check this
