Baldwin Community Schools Planning for 2020-2021

School staff, community partners, and our vendors have been meeting to put together a plan for school in 2020-2021. Per the directive from Governor Whitmer in Executive Order 142, the District must put together three different plans. We are working on those plans.

We need plans for Phases 1-3 (Remote Learning), Phase 4 (in person with a great deal of caution, social distancing, masks, etc.), or Phase 5 (similar to Phase 4 with the potential for lessened requirements). Regardless of which plan, students are accountable for participating in classes, completing work — and yes, there will be grades!

Our staff continues to work with Yates Dial-a-Ride, Family Health Care, the Baldwin Promise,, True North after-school programming, our custodial team, and our food service team to ensure student and staff safety and security. We are also working with Internet companies to be able to provide hot spots at various locations within the District.

Regardless of whether we are in person or remote, the first day of school has been pushed back to August 24. Please pay close attention to Facebook, our website, and robo calls to ensure you keep up to date on Baldwin Community Schools’ plans.

We hope to have a draft of our plan(s) available for review on Friday, July 24. We will schedule a special board meeting on Monday, August 10, for the Board to review and approve the plan. Then we will submit it to West Shore ESD for approval.

Partnership with Perfect Pact Produce

Thursdays we continue to have twenty pound food boxes available through August!

The food boxes include three cucumbers, a sleeve of celery, two pounds of carrots, five pounds of potatoes, five pounds of apples, three pounds of onions and a clam of fresh strawberries.

This is done in conjunction with Perfect Pact Produce who is working hard to make sure our farmers do not have to destroy food. You do not have to be picking up your breakfasts and lunches in order to get a twenty pound food pack. This is available to anyone and everyone, so PLEASE spread the word. It will be first come, first served on Thursday morning beginning at nine a.m

Thank you for being patient, completing your school work, and showing your Panther Pride.

Go Panthers!!!
